New Trailer for .hack//G.U. Trilogy

Again for those of you who haven’t seen it yet… this is the third trailer for the “upcoming” release of the .hack//G.U. Trilogy movie. Of course if you’re living in Japan, you probably have already had the chance to watch the movie in the theaters and probably the soon to be television broadcast. To say I’m not envious of those of you who may have already seen the movie or will soon (before the dvd and bluray release) would be a complete lie. ><;;

My qualms as a “gamer”

Just about the only thing anime-related in this post.

I know this probably has nothing to do with anime or manga but please bear with me for a bit. I really do try to avoid these type of posts but since I haven’t posted in a while, I just couldn’t help myself.

Lately I’ve been griping over the mass amounts of money that I’ve been pouring into the gaming industry recently. Aside from the obvious cost of purchasing the games themselves (unless you’re someone who pirates all their games in which case I can’t say whether I support you or not), there have been many “hidden” expenses that may or may not be really necessary. Whether or not this new “hidden” cost is really necessary could be viewed differently depending on the type of person you are. In my case, I’m most likely a person who’s been raised to penny-pinch but has the personality of an impulse buyer. It doesn’t help at all that I strive to get “not the best but the at least impressive” experience out of all my entertainment related business. This of course leads to many days of needing an Advil.

.hack//G.U. Trilogy postponed

CyberConnect2 has left me in despair!

So apparently the .hack//G.U. Trilogy movie has been pushed back to March 25th, 2008 instead of the previously intended January release date. This supposedly has to do with the decision to have the movie shown in theaters. More information can be found at the CC2 website (that is if you can read Japanese). If anyone could kindly give us a proper translation of the information on this page I’d greatly appreciate it. The dothackers’ website should also have some information on this matter.

Honestly, as I’m disappointed to hear that I’ll have to wait longer to get a chance to watch this movie, I’m actually a little relieved as it will give me time to purchase an HD TV and a PS3 to watch the blu-ray version in High-Definition. ^_^

.hack//G.U. Trilogy Trailers

I know this is kind of late but for those of you who haven’t seen it (or want to see it more), here’s a couple of trailers for the upcoming .hack//G.U. movie. Trilogy is scheduled to release in Japan on DVD and Blu-Ray on January 25th, 2008.

I can’t help but feel really excited for this movie. Even though the story may not be close to the original, I still think it will be really enjoyable. And even though I’m definitely getting this once the Japanese release drops, I’ll be hoping for a U.S. release (with Japanese audio pleeease!). ^^

Preorders for Soul Nomad begin!

I just got an email from NIS America with information about preorders for their new US release of Soul Nomad (Soul Cradle in JPN). Release date is now set for September 25th and NIS America is offering some preorder package deals along with it. While I usually would go all out and try to get the deal with the most to offer… sadly to say my interests (and funds) have dwindled a bit. I’ll probably plan on getting at most the “Devourer’s Set” which offers a few goodies plus a Soul Nomad Poster. And now without further ado…

Soul Cradle/Nomad Coming in September

According to IGN and Gamespot, it seems that the official release date for the North American release of Soul Nomad (Soul Cradle in Japan) will be on September 11, 2007 (great timing @_@).

If you’re eager to see this game in action, you can find many gameplay videos on YouTube like the one above… just make sure you search “Soul Cradle”. Most of them include crazy attacks with huge numbers. Looks like fun ^^;

Zero no Tsukaima 2 – Episode 1: The Lovable Loli-Tsundere is Back Again.

Ah how I’ve been waiting for this one. With the popularity of the first season and how relatively short it was, it’s no wonder that we’re getting a second helping of the infamous pink-haired loli-tsundere and her pet nihonjin. While the plot might turn out to be as typical as the first season, I’m really looking forward to seeing new and old characters and any character development that may or may not happen… and of course seeing Saito getting punished for looking at other girls (other than Louise) always brings up a chuckle.

Dennou Coil Episode 5 and 6 – Cyber Detective Number 5: Haraken

In episodes 5 and 6, we meet Haraken, president of the school’s Biology Club and Number 5 of Mega-baa’s cyber-investigation agency. He’s known for being shy, non-social, and his non-leadership skills. Haraken only seems to be interested in his research on Illegals however, he does care about his friends, saving them a few times from the Satchii.

Dennou Coil Episode 3 + 4 – Enter the Encoder, Isako

In episodes 3 and 4, we find out more about the mysterious Isako and a little bit about Yasako’s past. Negative emotions are being tossed about and fights are starting to break loose. We get to see more of the imaginative world of Dennou Coil as well as learn more about some of the characters in these two episodes.
